Process Engineer                                          AX-0434

 

The Position

We are looking for an integral member of the MEMs / Micro-optic Fabrication Team to play a sustaining role in key manufacturing processes as well as new process development in support of new products in at least two areas of our fabrication technology.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with wafer fabrication Technicians and Operators to provide assistance, support and training on manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • Characterize process capabilities and optimize processes using SPC, designed experiments, and analytical methods. (Some training and guidance provided where necessary.)
  • Drive process and product improvement projects to increase yield, reduce cost & cycle time and enhance performance & reliability.
  • Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for processes and material specifications.
  • Develop, manage and administer relevant process documentation in accordance with company ISO procedures.
  • Assist in the transfer of select processes and products from one facility to another, from process set-up through pilot to standard production.

 

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in MEMs, micro-optic or semiconductor wafer / device fabrication.
  • Strong working knowledge of fabrication methods and associated equipment in at least two or more of the following disciplines: Electroplating, Dicing, lapping & polishing, lithography (DXRL) for the plating of thick microstructures, Wet etch, Dry etch, and/or Metalizations and dielectric coatings. (Preference will be given to those with significant experience in the areas of electroplating or DXRL.)
  • Broad knowledge of fabrication and material properties of silicon, III-Vs or II-VIs a plus.
  • Skill in the simple modification and operation of manufacturing execution systems and the use of statistical control methods.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001-2000 standard.
