AXSUN TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF SPECTRALEYE™ INTERROGATOR FAMILY

Billerica, MA, October 16, 2003 -- AXSUN Technologies Inc., leading developer and manufacturer of advanced photonic instruments and components, today announced the initial release of the SpectralEye Interrogator, the result of joint development with Belgium-based FOS&S Inc. SpectralEye Interrogators provide easily integrated measurement options for Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and other optical sensors.

"Although fiber optic sensors can make temperature, pressure, strain, and moisture measurements in very difficult environments, they have yet to achieve widespread commercial success," explained Bill Beck, industry veteran and specialty fiber and sensing expert. "The introduction of the SpectralEye Interrogator promises to reduce the degree of customization required to use fiber optic sensors, lowering costs, and making fiber optic sensing more readily available."
