AXSUN TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES GENERAL AVAILABILITY OF THE SPECTRALEYE™ INTERROGATOR

Billerica, MA, December 17, 2003- Axsun Technologies Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced photonic components and subsystems, today announced the general availability of the SpectralEye™ Interrogator family of products. The SpectralEye Interrogator makes fiber-optic sensing economically viable, eliminating the need for custom solutions that are costly to develop, deploy and maintain.

"Although fiber optic sensors can make temperature, pressure, strain, and moisture measurements in very difficult environments, they have yet to achieve widespread commercial success," explained Bill Beck, 22 year industry veteran, and specialty fiber and sensing expert. "The introduction of the SpectralEye Interrogator reduces the degree of customization required to use fiber optic sensors, lowering costs, and making fiber optic sensing readily available."

The SpectralEye Interrogator was co-developed with Belgium based Fiber Optic Sensors and Sensing Solutions to specifically meet the diverse needs of today's sensing applications. Various models can be operated standalone, as portable interrogators with integrated Pocket PC's, or embedded as part of a larger solution. The Pocket PC based user interface can be easily customized to display various physical parameters such as temperature, strain or wavelength. Additionally, Pocket PC based SpectralEye interrogators provide extended communications via USB, Bluetooth and WI-FI.
