Axsun Technologies to Introduce New Applications-Development Platform with its Award-Winning Axsun NIR-APS Analyzer at FACSS

The company also to present to two symposia focusing on technology breakthroughs and new process applications enabled by the micro-spectrometer

BILLERICA, Massachusetts (September 28, 2004) – Axsun Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of micro-optoelectronic products that improve quality, performance, and productivity in a variety of industries, will introduce the Axsun NIR-APS Analyzer Accessory Kit for its award-winning NIR-APS Analyzer at FACSS 2004 (Booth 106). FACSS, the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies, will host its 31st Annual Meeting October 3-7, 2004, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Axsun is pleased to be a sponsor of the Process Analytical Technology sessions of the FACSS program.

The NIR-APS Analyzer Accessory Kit features best-in-class laboratory sample interfaces that are optimized for NIR-APS-based application development, manufactured by a world leader in spectrometer accessories – Specac. A fiber-coupled variable slide mount holder accommodates a selection of gas and liquid cells and cuvettes, as well as the input and output fiber connectivity of the NIR-APS Analyzer. A special base plate fixes both the spectrometer and variable slide mounts to ensure ease-of-alignment and facilitate set-up. Items are packaged in a hard shell carrying case for convenient storage and transportation.

Symposia to Describe Breakthroughs in Micro-Spectrometry and Offer Process Application Examples

Richard Crocombe, Ph.D., the company’s director of marketing for optical micro-instrumentation, and Matthew Smith, Ph.D., sales director, will present two symposia at FACSS on Monday, October 4, 2004: “MEMS Technology Moves Process Spectroscopy Into a New Dimension,” at 4:50 pm; and “A High-Resolution, MEMS-based, Miniature NIR Spectrometer,” at 5:10 pm.
