Axsun Technologies Announces New High Speed Products for Industry-Leading Optical Monitor Family

BILLERICA, Massachusetts and ANAHEIM, California (March 7, 2005) – Axsun Technologies Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced photonic components and subsystems, today announced two new high-speed products in the industry-leading OMx™ optical monitor product family. First field deployed in 2001, today OMx monitors are used in over half of all new telecommunications systems employing optical monitoring. The OM4 and OM5 products offer the industry-leading performance equivalent to Axsun’s established OMx products, but operate up to 10 times faster, completing measurements in 100 milliseconds.

The OM4 is a mechanically and electrically compatible replacement for several legacy standard dual port RAM optical monitors in use today, giving customers the performance benefits of the OMx family, without the additional investment of developing a unique PC board. Both the OM4 and small form-factor OM5 products offer the industry’s highest performance with laboratory instrument class Spectral Resolution, and leading OSNR Accuracy at 50GHz and 100GHz spacing.
