Axsun Introduces High Performance C+L Optical Monitor at OFC/NFOEC
2007
Extended-Range Optical Monitor Broadens Axsun’s Industry
Leading Optical Channel Monitor Product Family
Billerica, MA, March 26, 2007 – Axsun Technologies Inc., a
leading developer and manufacturer of advanced photonic components
and subsystems, today announced further expansion of their industry-leading
OMx™ optical monitor product family with the introduction of
the industry’s first high resolution C+L Band Optical Monitor.
Introduced for the first time at OFC/NFOEC conference and exposition
in Anaheim, CA, Axsun’s new OMxCL, delivers industry-leading
performance across the entire C+L bands in a single compact integrated
package.
First field deployed in 2001, Axsun OMx monitors are currently used
in over half of all new telecommunications systems employing optical
monitoring, covering Metro/Regional, Long Haul and Ultra Long Haul
spans.
The OMxCL provides all the performance benefits of the OMx family,
while providing more than double the optical bandwidth, up to 100nm,
enabling monitoring of hundreds of channels in one rapid scan. The
OMx family offers the industry’s highest performance with laboratory
instrument class Spectral Resolution (400 MHz), and leading OSNR
Accuracy at 50GHz and 100GHz spacing.
“
Axsun has grown to be the market leader in optical channel monitoring
through innovation in design and rock-solid reliability in the field,” said
Greg Smolka, Axsun VP of Sales and Marketing. “With the addition
of these new wider bandwidth products, DWDM system providers as well
as Optical Sensing Instrumentation manufacturers can now monitor
the entire C+L band in a single module, while not compromising on
the high resolution and superb OSNR performance they have come to
expect from Axsun’s OMx products.”
Samples of the new OMxCL begin shipping in April 2007.
