OMx Optical Monitor Product Family
With thousands deployed each year in DWDM systems around the world, OMx monitors provide laboratory instrument-class measurement capabilities in the smallest form factor ever offered. Based on Axsun Technologies' proven photonic packaging platform, Axsun's OMx product family consists of a market-leading line of embedded optical spectrum analyzers for telecommunication physical layer monitoring, and tunable filter-based engines for fiber optic sensor interrogation.

OMx monitors incorporate Axsun's highly reliable MEMS tunable filter, micro-optics, and LIGA micro-alignment structures in a package tough enough to meet the most demanding telecommunications or sensor interrogation challenge. With nearly 25 million hours of device operation, OMx reliability has been proven in critical telecom applications.

Axsun's OMx monitors -- the standard for optical channel monitoring. For telecommunications customers, Axsun's OMx product family provides highly accurate optical power, frequency and signal-to-noise ratio measurement in the C or L band, and reports the data over a serial RS-232 or dual port RAM interface. The scanning architecture of the OMx is extremely flexible, providing support for 25GHz channel spacing, and scaling to support more than 1000 channels, addressing the requirements of any channel plan. With high spectral resolution, flexible signal processing capability and our TruSpectrum feature, OMx monitors can be used for OSNR monitoring and analysis across a wide range of modulation techniques and transmission data rates.

For sensor interrogation, Axsun’s OMx Interrogator offers a fast, highly accurate and reliable interrogation subsystem that addresses a range of optical sensor test and measurement configurations.
