The EHS Manager will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining company (both Corporate and site) environmental, health and safety programs to ensure continuous compliance with applicable International, Federal, State and local environmental health and safety regulations. This position will be stationed at the Billerica, MA site.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and implement regulatory compliance programs.
Maintain all Environmental Health and Safety permits.
Work with engineering teams, supply chain and customers to ensure product compliance to EU RoHS, REACH and WEEE Directives
Work with respective teams to carry out incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
Recommend corrective action where EHS hazards exist.
Interact with all departments to assist with EHS issues.
Perform workplace ergonomics evaluations, safety inspections and on going job hazard analysis.
Manage and maintain hazardous materials inventory, profile and manifest waste and recycle programs.
Assist in the administration of the sites worker’s compensation program with Human Resources.
Perform safety engineering reviews on existing equipment and new equipment/processes, including new product development, to ensure all applicable EHS requirements (permits, secondary containment, safety training, etc) are satisfactorily fulfilled prior to implementation as part of change control.
Train managers and employees to ensure that they practice good safety culture and habits through Active Safety: general safety, workplace accident prevention, and personal injury prevention.
Implement structured EHS training programs meeting Federal, State and Local requirements for the nature of the business
Accurately maintain all EHS records.
Manage the Safety Committee as well as the Emergency Response Team (ERT), where applicable.
Implement Corporate EHS initiatives for the site
All other EHS duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar/ related field with at least 5 to 8 years experience.
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Access.
Working knowledge of OSHAS 18001 (now known as ISO 45001) and ISO 14001 preferred.
Certified Industrial Hygiene and experience is preferred.
Certified ISO14001 and or OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to manage and meet regulatory agency requirements and deadlines.
Working knowledge of environmental legislation including RCRA, DOT 49 CFR, NPDES, MASS DEP permitting, etc. is required.
ERT experience preferred.
Certified in CPR/First Aids/AED preferred.
Certification in Hazmat handling, DOT 49CFR, 40 hours Hazwoper and Universal waste is required.
Able to move/lift 50+ lbs.
Working knowledge of EU RoHS, REACH and China RoHS is preferred.
Must be eligible to work on State Department controlled products (ITAR controlled).
Working knowledge of IEC Laser Standards
